Sam Rayburn Independent School District uses the School Messenger Parent Notification System to communicate with parents.
School Messenger allows you to receive automated phone calls, text and email messages for immediate emergency notifications such as snow days or other closings.
With School Messenger, you can also:
· Verify and change your phone number, email addresses and cell phone numbers.
· Set your preferences and control HOW you want to be contacted. You can decide that you prefer text messages or that you would like a phone call when an emergency, such as a school closing, arises—or you can continue to receive alerts through email alone. It’s entirely up to you.

What type of messages will I receive from SchoolMessenger?
SchoolMessenger will be used to send everything from snow closure alerts to attendance messages and classroom updates. Parents may also recieve notices about student's failing grades. If you have added your child's cell phone or e-mail address they will receive these messages.
Is SchoolMessenger secure?
Your student's information is stored on a secure server and all personal data is sent in an encrypted format. Please remember, just like with any application, if you give your password (to SchoolMessenger Connect) to anyone, including your child, your contact information can be changed and messages regarding attendance, grades and emergencies can be diverted or discontinued.
Can messages be sent in languages other than English?
Yes, SchoolMessenger can send information in multiple languages. Parents must select their language preference when they complete student information in Jeffco Connect.
How can I activate text messaging?
To start receiving text messages from the school via SchoolMessenger, you must provide a phone number in Sam Rayburn SchoolMessengerConnect and indicate text messages (SMS) as a preference. .
Can I receive information on my students at a long distance number?
Yes, Sam Rayburn SchoolMessenger can call long distance numbers. Messages cannot be sent to telephone extensions.
